No Joy in Mudville

We came to Morgan Hill to get maintenance done at Camping World. I swear, as much as we love this chain of stores because they have stuff in stock that we can use, if they had any competition, they would go down like a SCUBA diver to a shipwreck. In other words, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

John was unable to get an appointment for service the two times he called last week (because “the computers are down”), and today we showed up, waited while the service staff answered phones instead of dealing with the customers standing in line, and were told it would be 3 days at least before we could get in.

In 3 days, we’re supposed to be in Swamp Lake, so that’s not really preferred. What would have been nice is if they had been able to schedule us last week for today or tomorrow.

Also, for the second time in a week, they sold us an expensive item (last week, it was something that costs $2000, today it was $125) that did not have any of the hardware (bolts and screws) to attach it! WTF? John took the bike rack back (the $125 item) and they stole the hardware pack out of another bike rack box (which I am sure they will now sell to some other schmuck), but he never got satisfaction for the tow kit.

*sigh*

At any rate, it looks like we might be heading to Fresno next, as there’s a mechanic there who can probably take a look at our rig.

Also, there should be little maps showing up if you’re reading this in the main mega-blog (LJers, the maps probably won’t show for you). If they disappear, I’m currently troubleshooting that (which means the obligatory “Test” posts forthcoming), but I may have hit on a conflict between two plugins that might be unresolvable.

We were so tired, we slept for about 11 hours last night, and I woke up with a terrible backache. I don’t know if it’s from sleeping so long, or perhaps from stress and then from that horrible massage, but it really hurts today, something bad. I hope to feel better tomorrow.

Ah, yes, and you all might have noticed that Johnny is now posting to my blog. LJers might find that disconcerting, but I will ask him to please post his name whenever he posts to the blog, so you all will know it’s him, and not me. He does not have my LiveJournal login or anything; your friends-only posts are still safe (though I don’t keep secrets from him, nor do I rush to tell him every piece of drama). It’s just that he posts to the mega-blog, and it cross-posts here.
